REVIEW: Alice's Adventures in Wonderland (Lewis Carroll)

Book: Alice's Adventures in Wonderland
Author: Lewis Carroll
My rating: 4/5

Premise: It all began one hot afternoon. Alice was sitting on a bank when suddenly a White Rabbit with pink eyes ran past her. When the rabbit took a watch out of its waistcoat pocket and looked at it, Alice decided to follow it down the rabbit-hole. She found herself in Wonderland where she met the Mad Hatter, the grinning Cheshire Cat who could vanish at will, the Queen of Hearts, and other strange and memorable characters.

I'd been meaning to read this book for a while (partly for my namesake!) and it didn't disappoint. I loved how quirky the book was. The mix of made up words and turning common phrases on their head. Some of his ideas seem abstract yet so simple. The story is very easy to read and had a fast pace. My copy of the book had both Alice in Wonderland and Through the Looking Glass in it. I preferred the former to the latter storywise, but that could be due to me having some familiarity with the first story. But a good book nonethess!
