REVIEW: The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-time (Mark Haddon)
Book: Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-time

My rating: 4/5
Premise: This is a murder mystery novel like no other. The detective, and narrator, is Christopher Boone. Christopher is 15 and has Asperger's Syndrome. He knows a very great deal about maths and very little about human beings. He has never gone further than the end of the road on his own, but when he finds a neighbour's dog murdered, he sets out on a terrifying journey which will turn his whole world upside down.
I'd always meant to read this book, and, since I was going to see the stage version, I thought I'd better read it before I went. I enjoyed this book and thought it was done well. You really get a sense of how the main character feels and how he thinks. The chapters can be quite random and digress at times, which slows the plot down, but that is all due to how the main character thinks. A very nice book!
I went to London to see the stage adaptation of The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-time at the Picadilly Theatre and wow what a play! The story was exactly the same as the book and the stage, lighting, production all made the performance visually stunning. If you ever get the chance to see this play, then go!!!
