REVIEW: Darkest Powers Trilogy (Kelley Armstrong)

Series: The Darkest Powers Trilogy
Author: Kelley Armstrong
My rating 5/5

Premise: All Chloe Saunders wants us a life like any normal teenager. But when she starts seeing ghosts, she knows that life will never be normal again. Soon the ghosts are everywhere, demanding her attention. When Chloe finally breaks down, she's admitted to a group home for disturbed kids. At first Lyle House seems okay, but as she gets to know the other patients, Chloe discovers that Lyle House is not your usual group home.

The Summoning was the one of the YA novels that got me back into reading as a teenager, so this series holds a special place in my heart. I read this series before the rest of Kelley Armstrong's books and I fell in love with the supernatural world that she'd created. This wasn't just the usual vampire/werewolf or witch/wizard world - there are necromancers, demons, shamans, etc. I loved the variety of supernatural creatures. The story was fast and exciting - I think originally I read the series in a matter of days, I was hooked! A fabulous series and one every YA fan should read!
