Premise: Just before the Earth is demolished (in order to build a new hyperspatial express route), Arthur Dent is whisked off the planet and goes on a remarkable series of adventures across the galaxy.
I loved this series. The humour was perfect, subtle and rather British (well we do have our funny ways!). The 4 books are short so it's easy to binge them in no time at all. The only down side was the last book....nothing really happened so it was lacking compared to the rest of the series. I hope to finally get round to listening to the original radio version, but I might give myself a longer gap between reading the books and listening to it!
