REVIEW: Neverwhere (Neil Gaiman)

Book: Neverwhere
Author: Neil Gaiman
My rating 5/5.

Premise: Richard Mayhew, a young businessman, is going to find out more than enough about the hidden side of London. A single act of kindness catapults him out of his workday existence and into a world that is at once eerily familiar and utterly bizarre. And a strange destiny awaits him down here, beneath his native city: Neverwhere.

Honestly, I adore this book. The world of London below is so clever, the way Neil Gaiman plays with words and brings places in London to life, it's all so so clever and intriguing! In the book there is an angel called Islington, there are Shepherds at Shepherd's Bush, there is an Earl and a court at Earls Court. The whole premise and concept is magical and the story is fast paced and funny at times. Sometime after reading the book, I watched the TV series, which is also fantastic (although very 90s!) and made me fall in love with the story and the world again. I love love LOVE this book!!!!
