REVIEW: The Red Queen (Victoria Aveyard)

Premise: the Reds are commoners, ruled by a Silver elite in possession of god-like superpowers. To Mare, a Red girl who lives in poverty, it seems like nothing will change. But Mare possesses a deadly talent of her own. Fearful of her potential, the Silvers hide Mare in plain view, declaring her a long-lost Silver princess. Knowing one false move will mean her death, Mare must use her new position to bring down the regime - from the inside.
I did enjoy this book. I'd heard of it for a while and finally got round to reading it. However, since I've read so many YA novels of this ilk, this book was a tad predictable and similar to one's I've already read. I liked the world created and how badass the female protagonist is throughout. If you're relatively new to YA or can't get enough of it, I'd say you'd love this book. If you've read a lot of YA then it may seem a tad repetitive. I may read the rest of the series but I'm not too fussed. An good book but it's missed my YA phase.
