REVIEW: Twilight (Stephenie Meyer)

Book: Twilight
Author: Stephenie Meyer
My rating: 4.5/5.

Premise: When Bella Swan moves into the gloomy town of Forks and meets the mysterious Edward Cullen, her life takes a thrilling and terrifying turn. Edward is irresistible and impenetrable, but Bella is determined to uncover his dark secret. What she doesn't realise is that the closer she gets to him, the more she is putting herself at risk.

I know this book gets a lot of hate, but I honestly love it. I can only really describe it as warm. Edward and Bella are a lot softer, kinder and banterous than portrayed in the films (so much moody staring!!!). The romance in the book is adorable - you can't help but find Edward and Bella sweet together! Also, I was surprised how caring Jasper and Emmett were, and how bitchy some of Bella's peers were. So much I forgot or got confused with the film! Overall, this book delivers a classic vampire romance, just as it promises. Haters gonna hate, but I love Twilight!

The films are all good adaptations of the book - they stayed as true to the books as possible. The main difference I felt was the mood. The romance was sweet in the book, but was more lusty in the film. There is a definite moody vibe across all the films. That being said, I still think the films are enjoyable and worth a watch if you loved the book!
