REVIEW: Halloween Party (Agatha Christie)

Book: Halloween Party
Author: Agatha Christie
My rating: 3/5.

Premise: At a Hallowe'en party, Joyce—a hostile thirteen-year-old—boasts that she once witnessed a murder. When no-one believes her, she storms off home. But within hours her body is found, still in the house, drowned in an apple-bobbing tub. That night, Hercule Poirot is called in to find the 'evil presence'. But first he must establish whether he is looking for a murderer or a double-murderer.

Another classic murder mystery from Christie. I wasn't as hooked with this book as I have been with other stories by her, but it was still very good and the twist at the end I didn't see coming! There were many threads to this story, with past mysteries merging with the murder at hand. This book is one of the later Poirot books and you could tell from the references to previous mysteries, which I haven't read yet. So some of the "reminiscent" bits were a tad dull and lost on me. But overall, still a good murder mystery!
