REVIEW: The Murder of Roger Ackroyd (Agatha Christie)
Author: Agatha Christie
My rating: 4/5.
Premise: Roger Ackroyd knew too much. He knew that the woman he loved had poisoned her brutal first husband. He suspected also that someone had been blackmailing her. Now, tragically, came the news that she had taken her own life with a drug overdose. But the evening post brought Roger one last fatal scrap of information. Unfortunately, before he could finish the letter, he was stabbed to death.
It's no secret that I'm an Agatha Christie fan. The Murder of Roger Ackroyd is considered one of her best and indeed, it was amazing. It's another Poirot mystery that will have you scratching your head. Unfortunately, I had it slightly spoiled so the reveal didn't have as big an impact as it should have. So I'd say go into this book blind. Don't read up on the book beforehand because even the smallest thing can spoil it (as it did for me). But yet again, another cracking read that had me hooked!
