2021 WRAP UP
And just like that, another year is over!
2021 wasn't quite what we were expecting. Covid is still hanging around and it's a tad hazy what we can/can't do (and what we should/shouldn't be doing!). I managed to get all my jabs and started going back into the office. But now I'm not sure when I'll next be leaving the house - who knows what 2022 will bring!
This year I decided that for every book I bought, I'd donate £1 to charity. In total, I bought 77 books. So, I've donated £26 to each of the following charities:
- Mind - providing support for people struggling with their mental health, as well raising awareness and breaking down stigma (https://www.mind.org.uk/about-us/what-we-do/)
- freedom4girls - fighting period poverty by providing education, campaigning for menstrual equality and providing period products to those in need (https://www.freedom4girls.co.uk/about-us/)
- pkd charity - supporting people with polycystic kidneys disease (PKD) and funding research into treatments and a cure (https://pkdcharity.org.uk/about-us/what-we-do)
These charities are all amazing so please spend a few minutes checking out the work they do and donate if you can.
I didn't set myself a numerical challenge this year but I created a 12 reading prompts similar to I had last year. I also had a 6-month subscription to Rare Birds Book Club (go check them out!) so read some books I wouldn't have otherwise picked up.
Below are the books I read this year. Next year, I'm hoping to cut down my book buyingaddiction habit and cut down that tbr pile!
