REVIEW: Legendary (Stephanie Garber)

Book: Legendary
Author: Stephanie Garber
My rating: 4/5.

Premise: Tella has finally escaped her father and saved her sister. But she isn’t yet free. She made a bargain with a mysterious criminal who wants Legend’s true name in return. Tella's only chance of uncovering Legend’s identity is to win Caraval, so she throws herself into the competition once more. If she can’t fulfill the bargain, she’ll lose everything she cares about. But if she wins, Legend and Caraval will be destroyed forever.

I loved Caraval - it's one of my favourite books. Legendary picks up straight after the first book ends and yet again, you're never quite sure what's real and what's not. I was worried the plot would be pretty much the same as the first just dressed slightly differently. However, it didn't feel that way at all. The story was a bit slower this time but then there were multiple plot lines being woven together. The romance aspect was predictable but I was a sucker for it. The ending made me want to cry and hug the main characters (swear to god if Scarlett and Julian don't get a happy ever after....). Overall, a fun, magical sequel.
