REVIEW: Notes on a Nervous Planet (Matt Haig)
Book: Notes on a Nervous Planet
Author: Matt Haig
Premise: The world is messing with our minds. Looking at sleep, news, social media, addition, work and play, Matt Haig invites us to feel calmer, happier and to question the habits of the digital age. This book might even change the way you spend your precious time on earth.
[⚠️TW: mental illness, anxiety, suicide]
I love Matt Haig's non-fiction books that tackle mental health. While Reasons to Stay Alive was part memoir, part factual and part self-help, this book discusses various topics with some well placed anecdotes. He discusses how different aspects of modern life make us more anxious and have restricted our enjoyment of life. There are tips and ideas sprinkled throughout of how to reclaim certain aspects of your life, whether that's spending less time on your phone or shifting your perspectives. An interesting book and I'm trying to take some points on board!
