REVIEW: Cemetery Boys (Aiden Thomas)

Book: Cemetery Boys
Author: Aiden Thomas

Premise: To gain his family's acceptance, Yadriel determines to prove himself by summoning his cousin's ghost. But when he accidentally summons the ghost of his school's resident bad boy, things get complicated. For Julian won't go into death quietly. And the more time Yadriel and Julian spend together, the harder it is to let each other go.

Latinx culture? Ghosts? LGBT+ characters and relationships? HELL YEAH! This book melted my heart so much. Yadriel is a trans boy who is fighting for his identity to be accepted by his family. I really felt for him and felt those little daggers when he was misgendered or his gran used his dead name. I was ready to jump in and defend him at any moment!

Julian is the resident bad boy and I realised how much I've grown up. As a teen, I'd be attracted to the bad boy. Now I want to replace the mother he lost! He's like a puppy with a lot of love and energy. I swear it's not possible to follow his and Yadriel's relationship without your heart melting.

So much to love in this book!
