REVIEW: The Spanish Love Deception (Elena Armas)

Book: The Spanish Love Deception
Author: Elena Armas

Premise: Catalina Martín desperately needs a date to her sister’s wedding. Especially since her little white lie about her American boyfriend has spiralled out of control. She only has four weeks to find someone willing to aid in her deception. Enter Aaron Blackford—her tall, handsome, condescending colleague—who surprisingly offers to step in.

This is your classic work enemies to lovers, fake dating story. It was a light and easy read, which I needed. I adored Aaron's caring side and how much banter Catalina had with him. I also loved how Catalina was a woman in STEM (whoop!), which gave rise to a subplot around workplace sexism. It did get spicy towards the end and I was blushing for many pages. But overall, a sweet story.
