REVIEW: The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue (V. E. Schwab)

Book: The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue
Author: V. E. Schwab

Premise: In a moment of desperation, Addie makes a bargain to live forever and is cursed to be forgotten by everyone she meets and unable to leave a mark. But everything changes when, after nearly 300 years, she stumbles across a young man in a hidden bookstore and he remembers her name.

This book was 500 pages of emotions. Addie is cursed and goes through 300 years of history being forgotten by everyone. It was interesting seeing how this played out and how she lives. She can't hold a job or own property because she's forgotten and can't make a mark with a pen. We see her in her loneliest and most vulnerable times. But she doesn't give up. Instead she's driven by her curiosity to see new and wonderful things.

You can't help but root for Addie and Henry. Finally she isn't lonely and he's found someone who sees him as he is. That being said, there were points when I liked the devil and the potential enemies-to-lovers plot with Addie. Honestly, I couldn't choose who I wanted her to end up with. The ending was perfect though and I found myself cheering Addie on.

A beautiful book.
