REVIEW: Kingdom of the Feared (Kerri Maniscalco)

Book: Kingdom of the Feared
Author: Kerri Maniscalco

Premise: Emilia yearns to claim Wrath, heart and soul - but that's something the enigmatic demon can't promise her. When a member of House Greed is assassinated and her sister is accused, evidence points to Vittoria as the murderer, Emilia and Wrath have to play a game of deception to solve the murder and stop the unrest brewing in Hell.

I spent a year eagerly awaiting this book. I couldn't wait to find out what happened next after the dramatic events of the previous book.

What happened next? Emilia and Wrath spent 400 pages being horny devils. Don't get me wrong, I like smut as much as the next person. But some plot would be nice as well. What I got was some confused and rushed storylines being tied up sandwiched between chapters of pure smut. After a while, I just found it hilarious. Although I rolled eyes so much I've got RSI!

The character development was weird as well. Was Emilia affected by any revelations? Nope, she just wanted to get kinky. Which was a complete shift from her being sex-shy in the first book. And Wrath went from menacing demon to little puppy. They both got turned on at the most inappropriate times as well.

So a disappointment overall. Oh well.
