REVIEW: Revelation (C.J. Sansom)

Book: Revelation
Author: C.J. Sansom

Premise: Spring, 1543. When an old friend of Matthew Shardlake is murdered, his investigation leads to the prophecies of the book of Revelation. Shardlake follows a trail of horrific murders that are igniting frenzied talk of witchcraft and demonic possession. For what else would the Tudor mind make of a serial killer?

I was nervous going into this book because I found the last one got too caught up in Tudor politics for me. But boy, this one was right up my street! This time we have a serial killer and some very high stakes. The murders were increasingly gruesome yet kept you turning pages to find out who the villain was. We also got to see Shardlake starting to think about mental illness psychology, which was interesting for the period the book is set in.
