REVIEW: The Unhoneymooners (Christina Lauren)
Book: The Unhoneymooners
Author: Christina Lauren
Premise: Olive has always been unlucky. But when food poisoning wipes out a wedding party, Olive is given the chance to take the honeymoon trip to Hawaii. The catch? She has to pretend to be happily married to Ethan, her nemesis. Soon Olive finds its no longer an act...
This book was OK but I wasn't wowed. It's your classic fake dating, enemies to lovers story. Olive is your clumsy heroine, she doesn't realise she's pretty. Ethan is the hot brother-in-law, who is standoffish. The usual suspects.
What I didn't like was the misunderstanding that breaks them up before the big, gushing reunion. The reason for them breaking up was so stupid and felt out of character for him. He was set up as caring for Olive and then does a u-turn. Very odd. I did like the scene where he's proven wrong though.
Not the best romance, but filled a hole!
