REVIEW: The Power of Geography (Tim Marshall)
Book: The Power of Geography
Author: Tim Marshall
Premise: In this book, explore ten regions that are set to shape global politics in a new age of great-power rivalry: Australia, Iran, Saudi Arabia, the UK, Greece, Turkey, the Sahel, Ethiopia, Spain and Space.
This book was really interesting. For each region covered, we're given a history of how that country formed, the geographical opportunities and restrictions, and how this affects its politics. I did learn quite a bit about various conflicts and issues in the world today. However, the geography element was more of a background feature. The focus was more on how history and religion have shaped the politics of today. So an informative read but I wish there was more geography to it!
