REVIEW: A Turn of the Tide (Kelley Armstrong)

Book: A Turn of the Tide
Author: Kelley Armstrong

Premise: When Miranda Hastings travels through a time stitch, she lands in Georgian England…and in the path of Nicolas Dupuis, the "pirate Robin Hood". But Miranda has the second sight, and there are ghosts at play here. Miranda and Nico must solve the mystery of a cabin boy’s death while keeping one step ahead of the hangman.

This book has so much going on. We've got time travel, romance, ghosts and a murder mystery. All this crammed into one, relatively small book. It is a wild ride and is good fun. My favourite part is that Miranda is a Victorian writer of risqué pirate adventures.

The problem I had with this book were how modern the characters were. They kept coming out with modern (some might say "woke") opinions and were a bit preachy. Didn't make it believable that they were from Georgian/Victorian times. Also, they seemed to be horny at the most inconvenient times.

Not my favourite in this series but a nice light read.
