REVIEW: Murder in Mesopotamia (Agatha Christie)

Book: Murder in Mesopotamia
Author: Agatha Christie

Premise: It is clear that something sinister was going on at the Hassanieh dig. In a few days’ time Hercule Poirot is due to drop in at the excavation site. But with one person suffering hallucinations, and tension within the group becoming unbearable, Poirot might just be too late.

I enjoyed this Poirot novel. It starts slow, setting the scene and building up to the murder. Then the murder occurs and the story is just as you expect from a Poirot novel. A good twist at the end, although I was suspicious of the character who did it. Only note of warning is that the novel is of its time so there are some comments that had me wincing and moving quickly on! Otherwise, another winner for me.
