REVIEW: The Mime Order (Samantha Shannon)

Book: The Mime Order
Author: Samantha Shannon

Premise: Paige Mahoney has escaped the prison city of Oxford. Now a fugitive in London, Paige is forced to return to Jaxon Hall, her charismatic and brutal employer, to keep her foothold in the underworld. But Paige will bow to one now that she has a taste for revolution.

I loved book 1, and then book 2 served. This book has mystery and thriller vibes as Paige tries to work out who actually pulls the strings in the criminal underworld and what their intentions are. There are many twists and turns, some actions but also a good amount of character development. There is a large cast and it can be confusing remembering who's who, but once you get into the world, it gets easier.

What had me screaming was the ending. We've just had the big climax of the story, Paige is just about to sit down to catch her breath then boom, we're given a major twist and the story ends on a cliffhanger. Normally I have breaks between books in a series but I had to know what happened next. Brilliant!
