REVIEW: The House in the Cerulean Sea (TJ Klune)
Book: The House in the Cerulean Sea
Author: T.J. Klune
Premise: Linus Baker leads a quiet life, overseeing orphanages for the Department in Charge Of Magical Youth. But his latest assignment is Marsyas Island Orphanage, where six dangerous children reside. Linus must set aside his fears and determine whether or not they’re likely to bring about the end of days.
This book was pure joy and warm fuzzy feelings. It reminded me of Neil Gaiman's books, with a fairytale tone but with darker tones. The characters are what make this book. The children are so funny and spend most of the book winding Linus up. I also loved Arthur (the caretaker) and the romance brewing between him and Linus. I just wanted to invite all the characters over for tea or an adventure. Really loved this book.
