REVIEW: Iron Flame (Rebecca Yarros)
Book: Iron Flame
Author: Rebecca Yarros
Premise: Everyone expected Violet Sorrengail to die during her first year at Basgiath War College. Now the real training begins. A determination to survive won’t be enough this year. Because Violet knows the real secret hidden for centuries—and nothing, not even dragon fire, may be enough to save them in the end.
This series might cover well trodden, predictable ground, with cliché plot lines. But I still absolutely lapped up this book. It's year 2 at dragon school. Violet is battling with her insecurities, which threaten her relationship. She's also being a classic heroine and taking on all these secret burdens. This story treads darker grounds and you worry for the side characters, especially now you've grown attached to them. The ending was also a real "HOLY SHIT" moment. Overall, a good sequel.
