REVIEW: Midwinter Murder (Agatha Christie)

Book: Midwinter Murder
Author: Agatha Christie

A seasonal short story collection so here are my thoughts on each one.

❄️THE CHOCOLATE BOX - a simple yet fun mystery where Poirot gets it wrong.

❄️A CHRISTMAS TRAGEDY - a complex Marple mystery. Very clever but I feel just a tad unbelievable.

❄️THE COMING OF MR QUIN - a fireside discussion that unravels an old mystery. Perfectly cosy for a cold, winter night

❄️THE MYSTERY OF THE BAGHDAD CHEST - an interesting story but I felt the motive wasn't satisfying and the murder was believable to me.

❄️THE CLERGYMAN’S DAUGHTER - a fun story of detective work that needed a couple more pages to tie things up properly I felt.

❄️THE PLYMOUTH EXPRESS - a clever Poirot mystery with good twists.

❄️PROBLEM AT POLLENSA BAY - a tale of a mother's dislike of her son's fiancée. Was good fun but a bit silly

❄️SANCTUARY - a good mystery and thriller-style story. And the appearance of Miss Marple got me all excited as well!

❄️THE MYSTERY OF HUNTER’S LODGE - a fun mystery where Poirot takes a back seat, prodding where needed. The last paragraph was a bit dark though!

❄️THE WORLD’S END - wasn't sure I knew where the story was going until the last page or so. Bit confusing but a satisfying ending.

❄️THE MANHOOD OF EDWARD ROBINSON - different to the usual Christie story. A fun romp but a bit soppy for my liking.

❄️CHRISTMAS ADVENTURE - a fun festive story featuring Poirot. Many twists but overall very light-hearted.
