REVIEW: My Sister, the Serial Killer (Oyonkan Braithwaite)

Book: My Sister, the Serial Killer
Author: Oyinkan Braithwaite

Premise: When Korede's dinner is interrupted one night by a distress call from her sister, Ayoola, she knows what's to expect. This'll be the third boyfriend Ayoola's dispatched. She should probably go to the police, but she loves her sister and, as they say, family always comes first. Until, that is, Ayoola starts dating the doctor Korede's long been in love with.

This was a very easy and quick read. Set in Nigeria, we follow Korede as she starts to question her sister's stories about how she only killed her boyfriends in self defence. You get a real sense of how trapped Korede is, both in terms of being complicit in the crimes and also with other people's expectations. Ayoola is a character you can't help but hate and I wanted her to get her comeuppance so so badly! Really enjoyable book.
