REVIEW: The Life Impossible (Matt Haig)

Book: The Life Impossible
Author: Matt Haig

Premise: When retired math teacher Grace Winters is left a house on Ibiza by a long-lost friend, curiosity gets the better of her. She arrives in Ibiza with a one-way ticket, no guidebook and no plan. There, Grace searches for answers about her friend’s life, and how it ended. What she uncovers is stranger than she could have dreamed.

I love Matt Haig's books and have been waiting for this one. It did not disappoint. Grace is an old lady living on her own and dogged by grief. But she takes the opportunity to go to Ibiza and makes a magical discoveries. This book felt like a love letter to Ibiza - not the party island, but the actual island. The story is one of healing, both for Grace and also the island. I loved seeing Grace work through her grief, try new experiences and enjoy life again. There's also a focus on nature and the beauty of the Mediterranean. Really enjoyed this book!
