REVIEW: A Pocket Full of Rye (Agatha Christie)

Book: A Pocket Full of Rye
Author: Agatha Christie

Premise: Rex Fortescue was enjoying his morning cup of tea when he met his untimely end. Suspicions naturally turn to his wife, until she too is found dead. Strange clues have Scotland Yard scratching their heads. Poisoned marmalade. Dead blackbirds. A victim found with a pocketful of rye. It’s up to Jane Marple to put the pieces together.

This is a classic patriarch is murdered but who in the family did it. There's plenty of mystery, shady characters and red herrings. The story is largely told from the point of view of the police detective, with Miss Marple coming along later to nudge him in the right direction. Very easy read and a satisfying conclusion - this time I didn't guess correctly!
