REVIEW: White Nights (Fyodor Dostoyevsky)

Book: White Nights
Author: Fyodor Dostoyevsky

This book contained two short stories: White Nights and Bobok

White Nights is a story of two strangers meeting over four nights, sharing their stories and facing their respective unrequited loves. It's a very quick read. I found the narrator overly dramatic and a bit dull when telling us how awful and lonely he was. But the story picked up after he had his monologue. For me, this is a story all about chance encounters and human connections.

Bobok is a weird story, all about a bloke overhearing the conversations of the dead in a graveyard. It's actually quite funny and felt like a satirical cartoon. Very short and easy to read.
