REVIEW: The Ragpicker King (Cassandra Clare)
Author: Cassandra Clare
Premise: Kel Saren's duty is to protect the crown prince of Castellane. Tasked to find those responsible for a massacre at the royal palace, he must join forces with the infamous Ragpicker King. Meanwhile, Lin Caster must face the aftermath of the greatest risk she’s ever taken: falsely claiming to be the Goddess Reborn in order to help her dying friend. Now the truth of her claim is about to be tested.
This is book 2 of the Chronicles of Castellane series and boy it was a good instalment! Book 1 (Sword Catcher) focused more on the world building and introducing characters. This book is a lot more plot heavy, with lots going on. There's mystery, there's action, there's twists. I really enjoyed seeing all these plot lines being woven and coming together at points. For me, this book confirmed that it was worth giving this series a chance and sticking with it after the first book. Really enjoyable and I don't know how I'll manage until the next book comes out!
