REVIEW: The Seven Dials Mystery (Agatha Christie)
Book: The Seven Dials Mystery
Author: Agatha Christie
Premise: Gerry Wade had proved himself to be a champion sleeper, so the other houseguests decided to play a practical joke on him. Eight alarm clocks were set to go off, one after the other, starting at 6:30 a.m. But when morning arrived, one clock was missing and the prank then backfired, with tragic consequences.
Having seen that this book was being adapted for Netflix, I had to read it before watching it. This book isn't a Poirot or Marple, but it does apparently borrow characters from another book - not that that affected the reading. The story has a slight espionage/organised crime flavour to it, as well as being a murder mystery. I was pleasantly surprised when all was revealed, although I was little confused about the murderer's motive. But overall, really enjoyable.
