REVIEW: Project Hail Mary (Andy Weir)

Book: Project Hail Mary
Author: Andy Weir

Premise: Ryland Grace is the sole survivor on a desperate, last-chance mission—and if he fails, humanity and Earth itself will perish. Except that right now, he doesn’t know that. He can’t even remember his own name, let alone the nature of his assignment or how to complete it. His crewmates dead, it’s up to him to puzzle out an impossible scientific mystery.

This is the sort of book that's hard to review as I don't want to give any spoilers! My experience was that it ended up being so different to what you're expecting. It's told in dual timelines, mixing the present with flashbacks as he remembers how he ended up in the middle of space. There's lots of science talk but you don't need to understand all of it. Good pace and easy to read. All I can recommend is to go into it blind - and definitely avoid the film trailers!
