REVIEW: Queen of Shadows (Sarah J Maas)

Book: Queen of Shadows
Author: Sarah J Maas
My rating: 4.5/5.

Premise: Everyone Celaena Sardothien loves has been taken from her. Now she returns to the empire - to confront the shadows of her past. Bloodthirsty for revenge on the two men responsible for destroying her life, Celaena returns to Rifthold, the seat of so much evil. She has accepted her identity as Aelin Galathynius, Queen of Terrasen. But before she can reclaim her throne, there are dark truths to learn and debts to be paid.

Holy moly this book was packed. We have rescues, betrayals, revenge, romance and friendship. There was a lot of women standing up for women and other women getting revenge for the horrors they're put through. Throughout the book, you're not sure what's been planned by Aelin and what hasn't. So many twists and turns. I spent a lot of the book shouting at Aelin and Rowan to just kiss already - I'm looking forward more of them in the rest of the series. One big plot line has been wrapped up but now its the calm before the storm. Better prepare myself for more of this roller-coaster of a series!
