REVIEW: Empire of Storms (Sarah J Maas)
Book: Empire of Storms
Author: Sarah J Maas
My rating: 5/5.
Premise: The assassin-queen has sworn not to turn her back on her kingdom again. Especially when she might be the only one who can raise an army to defeat the Dark King. But Erawan will wield Aelin's past, allies and enemies against her. With a powerful court trusting Aelin to lead them, what - or who - is she willing to sacrifice to spare her world from being torn apart?
This is my favourite book in the Throne of Glass series so far. I liked the pacing and the various storylines start to converge. I loved seeing the various members of Aelin's court get developed. I love the female characters. Aelin is confidence and sass, I want Lysandra to be my friend, and Manon is just super badass. My favourite part of the book was Elide and Lorcan's story. They are my new babies and I swear to god, if anything happens to them... My only issue was the sex scenes - they're a mix of cliché, gross and too long. But otherwise, adored this book!
